Presentation Judging Form | Finals Day

The Meeting Guide Presentation

Teams are asked to prepare for a meeting with a key leader to get their support and commitment for your idea. It is not a pitch delivered on stage in a competitive environment, but a calm persuasive discussion in a room that starts a discussion.

They have five (5) minutes to run through a number of topics that helps pursuade leadership to consider their idea further, and have the option to submit slides if they wish.

Please note: Teams are completing this entire series of tasks (a written change plan, engagement strategy, costs and benefit analysis and this presentation) in the space of two hours – so it’s a rapid fire day. Some aspects will be developed that might not appear in this presentation, and that is why we give you an option to clarify anything after hearing their pitch. As you review the rubric for the first time, you might also find some things that teams skimmed over, so please ask them any questions in this time too so you have all of the information they have developed.

1. Communication [20%](Required)

Presenting information in a clear and captivating manner.

Casual or unprepared delivery; unclear purpose; visuals add little value.

Some persuasive elements; slides cover basic information.

Clear, confident delivery; slides support key messages.

Professional, persuasive communication suited to a leadership discussion; strong visuals.

Highly persuasive, calm and confident delivery with a polished, professional slide deck tailored to decision‑makers.

2. Understanding & Research [15%](Required)

Deeply think about and understand the issues with respect, which then underpins everything presented.

Minimal evidence or understanding shown.

Research or proof points mentioned briefly.

Research or evidence informs parts of the presentation.

Research and proof points support multiple sections of the discussion.

Research, data, or lived experience clearly underpin the entire case for change and proposed solution.

3. Financial Information [10%](Required)

Clear understanding of financial information that shows detail and confidence in the field.

Financial information unclear or missing.

Start‑up and running costs mentioned with limited explanation.

Realistic figures presented with clear explanation.

Confident, well‑reasoned financial discussion linked to benefits.

Accurate, realistic, and conservative financials clearly strengthening the case for investment.

4. Creativity & Innovation [15%](Required)

Presenting new solutions and opportunities with fresh thinking that stands out and is innovative.

Limited creativity; key aspects of the problem not addressed.

Some creative problem‑solving evident.

Innovative ideas evident across several parts of the proposal.

Strong creative thinking clearly strengthens the solution.

Unique, compelling, and well‑developed innovation across all aspects of the idea.

5. Real World Problem Solving [15%](Required)

A solution that can be implemented in the world and solves the problem established, understanding some of the potential challenges and mitigates accordingly.

Weak connection to real needs; solution not practical.

Solution could work with significant adaptation.

Effective solution with a realistic, staged implementation approach.

Practical, community‑aligned solution with clear, actionable steps.

Scalable, effective solution that works with stakeholders and is realistic to implement.

6. Collaboration [10%](Required)

Evidence of collaborative work in the task presented.

Only 1–2 members present; limited team involvement.

All team members contribute respectfully.

Clear roles; everyone contributes meaningfully.

Team supports each other with coordinated delivery.

Professional, cohesive team performance throughout.

7. Organisation [15%](Required)

Evidence of being organised, on time, prepared and thought through in advance.

Presentation incomplete or poorly structured.

All sections covered, but timing or flow is uneven.

Clear structure and logical flow; well prepared.

Well‑organised, polished, and well‑timed discussion.

Fully refined, cohesive presentation delivered comfortably within the time limit.
